Canoe, Kayak, and fish on the Caney Fork River with Canoe the Caney! The Caney Fork River is a beautiful river to canoe, kayak, or trout fish! Canoeing and kayaking is a great past time for friends, families, groups, and organizations. Canoe the Caney has many canoe and kayak rental packages so there is something for everyone. Our canoe and kayak fleet is very large so we have the availability to accommodate large groups such as church groups and boy/girl scouts. Canoeing and kayaking is fun for everyone! Want to kayak the river, but not sure how? Our kayaks are sit-on-top and are perfect for beginners! Our kayaks are top of the line in comfort and functionality. The kayaks have adjustable foot pedals and an adjustable back rest making it very comfortable and relaxing to kayak the Caney Fork. Canoeing is a great way for the entire family to enjoy the water, even the little ones.

Fishing on the Caney Fork River is a great past time. The Caney Fork River is well known for being stocked with several different types of trout fish. The section of the Caney Fork River that is stocked with the trout fish begins at the Center Hill Dam in Silver Point, TN and runs downstream to where the Caney Fork River merges with the Cumberland River. The Caney Fork River is stocked with over 100,000 Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout every year by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA). Canoe the Caney supplies regular canoe and kayak rentals on is the first 9 miles of the Caney Fork River which starts at Center Hill Dam and ends at Betty's Island. The Caney Fork River is about 20-30 yards wide in most areas with a slow but noticeable current. The Caney Fork River has many areas along the river where you can stop and have a picnic lunch or get out and fish. The Caney Fork River is a public river, but the majority of the land is privately owned so please be courteous to the landowners.

With the hustle and bustle of every day life, it is great to take some time to slow down and relax. On the Caney Fork River, you will be surrounded by nature. If you are a bird lover, then you will especially enjoy the beautiful Blue Herron’s on the river. They play a type of cat and mouse game with our customers. They allow you to get within a canoe length of them, and off they go downriver, waiting for you to arrive once more. You will see them as many as fifteen to twenty times on a typical day. The Caney Fork River also has several other types of wildlife, including some very curious cows!

If you are looking for fun things to do in the Tennessee area, Canoe the Caney on the Caney Fork River is worth the drive. Canoeing and kayaking with Canoe the Caney is a fun and inexpensive way to spend the day. Just a short drive from Nashville, TN., the Caney Fork has something fun for everyone. Canoe the Caney offers a large twenty-five passenger shuttle bus which will take you and your canoe or kayak to and from the river. We make it really simple to have a fun, relaxing, enjoyable day on the river. We have a wonderful, friendly staff that will do all they can to help make your visit with us memorable!

Canoe the Caney is located off of I-40 at exit 268. If you are coming from Carthage, Lebanon or Nashville area, you will make a right off the exit. If you are coming from Cookeville, Crossville, or Knoxville area, you will make a left off the exit. Canoe the Caney is about 2 1/2 miles down on the left. We have a red and white metal building and you will see our billboard in our parking lot. We are truly looking forward to seeing you soon!
