Enjoy a beautiful scenic 15- Mile voyage from Center Hill  Dam to the historic Stonewall Bridge near Carthage.

This one lane wooden floor bridge was completed in April, 1900 and was a toll bridge until 1929. An unusual feature was the 90 degree curve in the bridge near the southern approach. This feature was acclaimed in “Ripley’s Believe It Or Not”.

During Exploration Days, July 28th – August 26th, Canoe the Caney is proud to offer unique trips that will allow guests to see different sections of the Caney Fork River from the Dam all the way to Carthage.

This trip is our third event, scheduled August 11th and 12th,  which will take paddlers 14 miles downstream from Happy Hollow to South Carthage. On this trip paddlers will first explore some history as they paddle under the old 1800’s train bridge. From there guests will continue downstream to see the Pirate’s Cave! Guests will also enjoy as they paddle under the Interstate several times, seeing the sites they see each time they pass over the Caney. Guests will continue down river making their way passed the Old Condemned Stone Wall Toll Bridge built in 1901, which was closed to the public in January 1973. From there paddlers will continue to enjoy new scenery as they continue 5 miles to the final destination at the South Carthage Ramp.

The trip will depart at 9:00 am CST and we pick up at 4 pm CST

During Exploration Days, July 28th – August 26th, Canoe the Caney is proud to offer unique trips that will allow guests to see different sections of the Caney Fork River from the Dam all the way to Carthage.

This trip is our final Exploration Days event, scheduled August 25th and 26th,  which will take paddlers 20 miles downstream from the Dam to South Carthage. Pack your lunch and plan for the best trip you have ever seen, because on this paddle, guests will explore all the beauty of the Caney as they float 20 miles from the Dam to South Carthage! Along the way guests will see all the sites that each of our other trips offer. First enjoy all the scenery and wildlife as you float down our standard 6 mile stretch. Then explore a little as you venture beneath  the old 1800’s train bridge! See the Pirates cave, and watch for the billy goats climbing on the bluffs above you. Guests will continue to enjoy as they paddle under the interstate many times.  Paddlers will also enjoy a little history as they paddle under the old Condemned Stone Wall Toll Bridge built in 1901, which was closed to the public in January 1973. From there paddlers will continue to enjoy the abundance of wildlife and scenery as they continue 5 miles to the final destination at the South Carthage Ramp.

The trip will depart at 9:00 am CST and we pick up at 5:30 pm CST

On this trip paddlers will explore many beautiful sites and an abundance of wildlife. Paddlers will also enjoy some history as they paddle under the old Condemned Stone Wall Toll Bridge built in 1901, which was closed to the public in January 1973. From there paddlers will continue to enjoy as they continue 5 miles to the final destination at the South Carthage Ramp.

The trip will depart at 10:00 am CST and we pick up at 4 pm CST
