Trip Options:
6 Mile Trip:
Our six mile trip is the shortest trip we offer. It will take on average 1 ½ hours to 3 hours depending on the generation (flow) of the river.
This trip starts just below the dam. You will then paddle down river to a boat ramp access area called Happy Hollow. The Caney Fork is a beautiful, rustic river and on this particular stretch, you get to enjoy nature at its best! This section is located away from major roads and houses so it is a perfect blend of you and nature. The 6 mile trip is a great reason to spend the day on the water! Enjoy the peaceful tranquility of the river, the Blue Herons, and the casual glances from the cows as you paddle by.
9 Mile Trip:
Our nine mile trip is the most popular trip we offer. This trip will have you paddling downriver to the Betty’s Island boat ramp. It will take on average 3 to 5 hours depending on the generation (flow) of the river.
On our 9 mile trip, the river changes quite a bit. Just past the 6 mile boat ramp, you will paddle under the old 1800’s train bridge that was in the movie ‘The Green Mile”. From there, you will travel under 3 sets of interstate overpasses. That’s right! All those times you’ve passed over the river driving to and from Nashville and thought about how nice it would be to be on it, here is your chance! Keep an eye out for the Bald Eagles that are so often seen on this stretch! There is nothing quite like seeing one of these majestic birds take flight over our beautiful river. Bonus points to anyone who gets a picture of them and posts to our Facebook page!
6 mile is $24.99 per person; 9 mile is $10 more per person
Children are free if they are the third or fourth person in a canoe. You must pay for a minimum 2 people per canoe.
15 Mile: We offer a 15 mile trip to Stonewall for groups renting 7 or more canoes. This trip needs to be scheduled 72 hours in advance and is generally not available on weekends.
Fall Foliage:
Come and enjoy the Caney at it’s finest! The leaves are changing colors, the fall weather is great, and the views are spectacular, but it won’t last long!
There is nothing quite like seeing the reflections of the reds, yellows, and oranges shimmering in the clear waters of the Caney! This time of year, people travel from all over the United States to Tennessee to enjoy natures splendor but for many, the Caney Fork is still a hidden treasure!
Upper Caney Fork Trips leave each hour between 9:00 and 12:00 on select days! Space fills up quickly during this popular event, so make sure to BOOK YOUR TRIP with us, and enjoy one of natures finest!
