Hidden Falls Waterfall on Center Hill Lake
Come paddle the waterfall excursion on Center Hill Lake with Canoe the Caney! We are proud to offer some of the most beautiful trips along the “Upper” Caney Fork River & Center Hill Lake. On these trips, paddlers will enjoy either a 6-mile, 9-mile, or 12-mile round trip along the banks of Center Hill Lake. Paddlers will explore beautiful coves, waterfalls, and an abundance of wildlife and nature. These trips are very subjective to the time of year and water levels.
Currently, we offer four trip options to enjoy. The first option begins at the Floating Mill Recreation area and takes paddlers north through 6 or 9 miles of secluded coves and shoreline. This is a great option for people with very small children and people who are looking to swim! This is also a trip we offer if the “lower” Caney is moving too swiftly.
The second trip begins at the beautiful Lakeside Resort complex. Here, paddlers can book their night’s stay and wake up to enjoy a 6-mile trip around Davies Island. If you prepared ahead, you can enjoy a relaxing picnic lunch on the banks of the island. This trip is very popular in April and May as well as in September and October.
Waterfalls Excursion:
Get your camera ready for our third and fourth trip options. The waterfall excursion on Center Hill Lake is definitely one of the most popular upper Caney excursions (and often, the most difficult to plan)! The water level has to be just right for the canoes and kayaks to be able to paddle to the locations of the waterfalls. April, May, September, and October are the best times for waterfall excursions.
Our third trip which begins at Johnson’s Chapel recreation area takes paddlers 6-miles upstream to the beautiful Fancher Falls waterfall on Center Hill Lake.
The fourth trip option is our longest trip which allows guests to enjoy a 12-mile round trip paddle to the base of the popular Burgess Falls.
With any of the trip options, guests will be sure to enjoy paddling these sections of the beautiful Caney Fork River.
Since the “Upper” Caney Fork has some larger areas, it is also great for your next large scout group or church outing. Both guided and self-guided trip options are available.
