About Canoe the Caney
Canoe the Caney, a family-owned venture established in 1999, initially began as a jet ski rental service. Over time, we diversified our offerings, adding canoes and kayaks to our fleet. Our mission is to provide accessible outdoor experiences to all who seek adventure, fostering a love for nature and exploration.
Hours and Directions
Canoe the Caney is located at 17055 Smithville Hwy, Silverpoint, TN 38582. Just a mile from I-40.
Between Memorial Day and Labor Day we are open 8am-6pm daily. River trips go out depending on the water level so be sure to check the “Book Now” button to see what times your trip may be going. For more detailed Hours and Directions go HERE.

Now Hiring
While Canoe the Caney does have year round employment opportunities, most of our crew is seasonal. Our peak time is May-September which works great with any students looking for a summer job. At Canoe the Caney, our goal is to help create happy memories for every guest by providing the very best customer service. We are thankful to provide a service that brings so much joy to others.
We have been featured in multiple media such as Southern Living magazine, the Travel Channel, and Lifetime’s reality show, “Little Women of Atlanta“. As the largest outfitter in Middle Tennessee, offering the largest fleet of canoes and kayaks, and we can accommodate groups of any size. We have a quick check-in system, operating four lanes for fast check-ins. Lastly, our first-class air-conditioned buses to get you comfortably to your drop-off and pick-up points.
In addition to fast, friendly check-in service, we take pride in all that comes with your adventure. That means modern, clean, air-conditioned changing rooms; lockers to store your belongings. As well as a large covered picnic area available for guests to hang out at or enjoy your tasty lunch from Lumberjacks Smokehouse.

We want our guests to have the best experience at Canoe The Caney, so we make safety our number one priority. We invested in high-powered rescue boats that can be out at a second’s notice, should the need arise. This is done because we’re committed to providing a safe environment for everyone out on the water.
