Exploration Days Event From the Dam to South Carthage
17055 Smithville Highway, Silver Point, TN 38582, USA
During Exploration Days, July 28th – August 26th, Canoe the Caney is proud to offer unique trips that will allow guests to see different sections of the Caney Fork River from the Dam all the way to Carthage.
This trip is our final Exploration Days event, scheduled August 25th and 26th, which will take paddlers 20 miles downstream from the Dam to South Carthage. Pack your lunch and plan for the best trip you have ever seen, because on this paddle, guests will explore all the beauty of the Caney as they float 20 miles from the Dam to South Carthage! Along the way guests will see all the sites that each of our other trips offer. First enjoy all the scenery and wildlife as you float down our standard 6 mile stretch. Then explore a little as you venture beneath the old 1800’s train bridge! See the Pirates cave, and watch for the billy goats climbing on the bluffs above you. Guests will continue to enjoy as they paddle under the interstate many times. Paddlers will also enjoy a little history as they paddle under the old Condemned Stone Wall Toll Bridge built in 1901, which was closed to the public in January 1973. From there paddlers will continue to enjoy the abundance of wildlife and scenery as they continue 5 miles to the final destination at the South Carthage Ramp.
The trip will depart at 9:00 am CST and we pick up at 5:30 pm CST
